Summer Time

Well, this spring and summer have just flown by this year! I can't believe its already the middle of August. I am about a month away from our biggest deadline at work, so I have been putting in some overtime lately. It hasn't been too bad, yet I still dont find myself loving the extra hours...lol.

During the spring/summer, I have had a chance to travel and do a lot of fun things! Here are some pics and the highlights...

I bought a new car!! His name is Steely, and he is a 2011 Acura RDX. My dad and I actually bought new cars on the same day from the same place. Here is a pic of our matching cars!

I went to Cali for my annual after tax season trip. We had a blast! I was able to be there for Emma's dedication, for lots of fun, and for Easter! My friend Megan came out to Cali for Easter weekend, so we got to show her around too.

In May, I finally got to visit the Wishert house and meet Zaden for the first time! What a precious baby! I look forward to seeing much more of Zaden and the Wishert family.

Before I knew it, June was upon us, and I was heading to Colorado for family vacation. We had a wonderful time hanging out in the house my parents rented. I loved sitting in the family room catching up, and just looking out at the gorgeous view of Lake Dillon and the mountains surrounding it. It was a little chilly at night, which was a fantastic change from the heat of San Antonio. It was so hard to say goodbye!

On June 30th, a couple of my girlfriends and I went to see Chris Isaak in concert! It was an amazing concert and such a fun girls night!

July 4th I took a little trip down to Corpus to visit family. It was so nice to spend some time with everyone down there. After that trip, I stayed in town for a couple of weeks.

This past weekend I got to fly out to Cali for Will's 4th birthday. We spent two days at Legoland, which was a blast! While we were there, we got Will some lego sets for his birthday presents. I think my favorite part of the weekend was putting the sets together with Will on Sunday morning before I left. I also thoroughly enjoyed seeing Emma holidng herself up and dancing and walking at Legoland. I miss the Hanschens very much and I can't wait to see them all again!!

Beach Trip 2011

So, after a lovely visit from my parents this past Wednesday and Thursday, I took the weekend off for a beach weekend with the girls! We stayed in Port A and had a great condo with a view of the beach. On Friday night after work, I drove down a group of us. We had way too much fun on the drive down. I don't think there was a moment where there wasn't laughter and smiling. Funniest part about the road trip was the 30min I wasted trying to find a bathroom on the island. We probably could have made it to the condo by the time I found a restroom that was open.

Once we made it to the condo, we ate dinner and hung out. The next day, we headed to the beach! I was surprised at how nice this beach was compared to JP Luby. I guess I was missing out all those years by staying on the island...hahaha. I pretty much slept and listened to music the whole day. It was so peaceful and relaxing. Praise God for such a nice day!

That evening, we cleaned up and went to dinner. Then we had an evening of games and a girly Jane Austen movie!! On Sunday, we ate breakfast and hit the road again. Another great road trip with a pit stop at Dairy Queen. I thoroughly enjoyed my hot fudge sundae! I had so much fun this past weekend, hanging out and hitting the road with the girls! What a wonderful weekend!

I will post pictures soon! :o)

Hello 2011!!

Well, as usual, I am WAY behind in bloging about Christmas and the New Year. Its difficult to find the time to write and post during the long work hours lately. I had a blessed and amazing Christmas with the family. We enjoyed almost two full weeks together in Corpus. It was difficult to say goodbye after all the wonderful moments we had together.

Here are a couple pictures of our family at church on Christmas:

Coming back in January, I dove straight into the January tax filings. It left me with little time for much else until this past weekend. I took the weekend off so that I could go with my church friends to work on a house for Habitat for Humanity. We had a blast, even if our siding project was less than successful...hahaha.

I will try to get some pictures posted from Christmas and Habitat soon! Happy New Year!!! :o)

Visit to Corpus

Last weekend, I took a Friday off and visited Corpus. It was such an enjoyable trip! I spent Thursday night with Mom and Dad, eating one of my favorite meals and watching some TV.

The next day, I went to see Mom's new 1st grade classroom. I had so much fun sing songs and making Halloween masks with the kids. After I left Mom's school, I visited with Aunt Dordie for a little while. Then, I met up with Becky for some coffee/catchup time. Before I knew it, it was time to head to dinner with Aunt Rose and Uncle Bobby. They took me to the Yacht Club for dinner. It was so nice to catch up and to sit by the water and enjoy some seafood. After dinner, Aunt Rose made me a special cup of tea with real ginger in it. It was delicious! The rest of the evening, I got to hang out with Becky and her friends. They were making jack-o-lanterns. It was a delightful evening.

Saturday was my day to catch up and hang out with Mom and Dad some more. We went all around town looking at different things. One of our stops included a furniture store that got me thinking about purchasing new sofas. After a full morning of walking and shopping, we ate at a delicious Chinese buffet. There isn't anything better than a nap after a full meal, so I took a nap once we made it home. We spent the rest of our time chatting and watching TV. It was so nice to spend some time at home! Looking forward to Thanksgiving in less than a month!!! :o)

A"maize"ing time in Hondo

Today Sunday school class headed to the Hondo corn maze for a little fun. We had a blast running thru the mazes, playing in the hay, and jumping around acting silly. Here is a photo recap of our day!
